The proposal to consolidate CIF as a high-level international research centre includes building its own headquarters, strengthening basic infrastructure, revamping existing laboratories as well as setting up new research groups in strategic areas.
Besides building a 5.000 square metres headquarters, the construction of a mechanics workshop, as well as the installation of cutting edge-technology computation and communication services is also envisaged.
Likewise, infrastructure of biophysics, optics, biotechnology and applied physics laboratories will be enhanced to equip them with suitable tools to carry on high-level basic, applied and technological development research. In view of their increasing importance, it has also been deemed necessary to establish a materials science laboratory. So far, basic and nanotechnology equipments are in place to support creation of new industrial companies in this field of work. |
